c/s AT HIGHER SPEEDS VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT
OF DRIVE MODE, FROM ECO TO SPORT TO NORMAL, ETC
THIS HAPPENED AFTER ALL THE MESSAGES POPPED UP * NO DTCS. CANNOT DUPLICATE CONCERN AT THIS TIME
[INTERMITTENT SLOWING DOWN THE TRANSMISSION WILL SKIP FROM 3RD TO 1ST GEAR WITH A HARD SHIFT. TRANSMISSION WILL SOMETIMES SKIP EVERY OTHER HIGH
GEAR DOWN SHIFTING. SHIFTING INTO REVERSE IS * Transmission/tcm needed extended time to complete adaptation process to smooth out shifts.
Remaining surge most likely due to engine
drivability issue. see star case 101894265. Road tested vehicle to duplicate customer concern. On road test transmission had intermittent rough 2-1 down shifts. Also noticed surge at steady cruising speeds between 20-45 mph. Fluid level and condition are normal. No updates or bulletins. Drove car multiple times performing adaptation procedure and shifts would not smooth out.Submitted star case and was told needed more time (higher fill counts) to complete adaptation procedure. Focused on Ñ? and e clutches. Transmission took much longer than normal to adapt. On final adaptation drive shifts finally smoothed out. Checked for vacuum leaks, monitored engine sensors/transmission sensors with pad on test drive for surge concern, tcc slip remained constant,engine sensors had no fluctuation. Surge likely cause by engine drivability issue.

WHEN COMING TO A STOP * TEST DROVE TO FIND TRANSMISSION SHIFTING PROPERLY AND FELT NO ISSUES WITH TRANSMISSION. FOUND HO BULLETINS FOR CONCERN. WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE CUSTOMERS CONCERN AT THIS TIME.
THE VEHICLE WILL NOT SHIFT PROPERLY AND WON'T GO OVER 30 MPH. * VERIFIED THE CUSTOMERS C0NCERN FOUND  THE TRANSMISSION TO NOT WANT TO MOVE AND FOUND ROUGH ENGAGEMENT INTO REVERSE WHEN TEST DRIVING. AFTER DRIVING FOR A SHORT PERIOD, FOUND THE TRANSMISSION TO SLIP AND C NOT MOVE THE VEHICLE EFFECTIVELY. BROUGHT VEHICLE INTO BAY, RAINED AND INSPECTED FLUID, TO BE BLACK LIKE USED DIESEL OIL. FOUND THE THERMAL BYPASS VALVE TO BE STUCK SHUT AND TORQUE CONVERTER OVERHEATED. REM0VED TRANSMISSION AND MOUNTED TO BEACH MOUNT. DISASSEMBLED AND FOUND ALL CLUTCHES AND SEALS TO BE CONTAMINATED WITH FOREIGN MATERIAL FROM FAILED TORQUE CONVERTER AND FILTER TO BE  PLUGGED. REPLACED ALL EFFECTED SOFT PARTS. INSPECTED ALL HARD PARTS AND BUSHINGS, FOUND NO DAMAGE TO HARD PARTS OR BUSHINGS PRESENT. DISASSEMBLED AND INSPECTED MAIN
CONTROL. FOUND ALL VALVES TO MOVE FREELY WHEN TESTED, FOUND NO ISSUES
WITH MAIN CONTROL CLEANED AND REINSTALLED REASSEMBLE TRANSMISSION AND INSTALLED NEW TORQUE CONVERTER. FLUSHED COOLER LINES AND INSTALLED NEW: COOLER BYPASS VALVE. FILLED TRANSMISSION WITH FLUID RESET ADAPTIVE LEARN TABLE. FOUND TRANSMISSION TO GO THROUGH ALL GEARS SMOOTHLY AFTER DRIVE CYCLE AND ENGAGE INTO GEARS SMOOTHLY  CHECKED AND ADJUSTED CAMBER AND TOE. ROAD-TESTED AND FOUND THE CUSTOMERS CONCERN TO NO LONGER BE PRESENT.
