CUSTOMER STATES THAT HE IS HAVING TO ADD OIL * Resolution: RESTRAINT FOR
THE ECU. FOUND RAMPS IN CVT WORN AND NEEDING REPLACEMENT. RELEASE LATCH
IS BROKEN AND NEEDS REPLACEMENT. MISSING BOLT ON MAG COVER. REPLACE
BOLT. FOUND MISSING BOLT ON SKID PLATE. REPLACE BOLT. -INSPECT DRAIN
BOLT GASKET. FOUND COMPRESSION TO BE AT 220 PSI ON BOTH CYLINDERS -FOUND
ENGINE TO PASS LEAK DOWN TEST -UNIT NEEDS OIL CHANGE -FOUND OIL CONSUMPTION CAUSED BY OIL MAKING ITS WAY PAST THE OIL SEPARATOR FROM THE CRANKCASE BREATHER. OIL THAT HAD MADE IT PAST SEPARATOR MADE INTO INTO THE AIR BOX CAUSING THE OIL TO BE SUCKED UP AND BURNT IN THE COMBUSTION CHANGE. THIS IS WHAT WAS CAUSING THE UNIT TO SMOKE. -AFTER DISCUSSING THIS WITH KAWASAKI WE HAD DETERMINED THAT AFTERMARKET COMPONENTS AND LONG HIGH RPM RUNS CAN CAUSE OIL TO MAKE IT MAST OIL SEPARATOR AND ENTER THE AIRBOX. -WE RECOMMEND REPLACING ALL AFTERMARKET COMPONENTS AND RUNNING THE STOCK ECU FLASH. THIS IS DUE TO HOW THE ENGINEERS HAVE DESIGNED THIS BREATHER SYSTEM AND ANY MODIFICATION CAN HAVE ADVERSE AFFECTS SUCH AS THIS. RUNNING UNIT FOR EXTENDED HIGH RPM RUNS CAN ALSO CAUSE THIS AND SHOULD BE AVOIDED. Recommend: -REMOVE AFTERMARKET COMPONENTS AND AVOID LONG HI RPM RUNS. -REPLACE TIRE RACK -REPLACE MISSING BOLT ON MAG COVER -REPLACE BOLTS ON SKID PLATE -REPLACE WORN COMPONENTS ON DRIVE CLUTCH. -PERFORM OIL CHANGE |
